Singer Akothee is gradually becoming a global figure especially after working with Diamond Platnumz,Mr Flavor and Dj Maphorisa in her resent works.She is rumored to be Kenya's richest  musician with a vast estate of belongings and companies.Akothee however is currently facing hard time after she received the sad news that her newest video Benefactor will be brought down from YouTube soon enough.

Reason being some of her lyrics for the song are copy pasted from previous works by few other artistes.Among the few artistes whose works Akothee has remixed into her new Benefactor song include Yelele by Jakonyango and Aroko by Princess July.Princess Jully was part of the divas of the Nile Supergroup that featured four Kenyan  female musicians herself, Suzzana Owiyo, the late Achieng Abura and Mercy Myra.She is famed for the songs Malo Malo Joluo Malo and Dunia Mbaya .

Bonyeza Star took the initiative of speaking to Princess July Records over the issue and it turns out both of the above mentioned songs belong to the Record label owned by Luo Legendary musician Princess Jully.

Princess July's son Makajully who is also the Creative Director at Princess July Records narrated to Bonyeza Star how Akothee ended up obtaining the two projects without neither a proper compensation nor a  permission.Leave alone agreement terms.

''If you can remember very well there was a time my mom Princess July and Akothee were up for a collabo .So Akothee paid a visit to Mama and they even took a few photos together though the family was stern on their stand not to have her use the photos until the mission was clearly spelt out.Only to later listen to her latest release and realize she duped all of us.If they were to collabo it was going to be very easy but instead she decided to steal away the lyrics by posing too close and then went to social media to claim she paid us .I want the whole world to know that Akothee never paid Princess July anything and thus she unlawfully used the lyrics .The family's stand therefore is that we not only need compensation for the remixing but also a public apology for smearing mad on our family name .Yes Yelele Jakonyango is since dead but his royalties are still managed by Princess July Records and his beneficiaries.In simple terms whatever Akothee has done is called Infringement and the MCSK laws stipulate clearly what should be done when such happens.We are pulling the video down until we receive clear communication from Akothee and her team concerning settlement and apology.We are also going to serve her with a court order on the same.'' News reaching Bonyeza Star is that Captain Lennox ,a former Maseno University Entertainment Director,was this past weekend,in his drunk state, involved in a fight which led to a colleague receiving minor  knife injuries.The two are said to have began quarreling  at a funeral of a fourth year student ,Quincy Awiti,in Bondo,thereafter leading to a fight.Lennox is reported to have attempted to stab the fellow comrade from the back of his head with a knife though did not succeed on his mission as the knife did not penetrate into the head of his victim except for minor scratches.Soon enough other comrades noticed what was happening .The former director escaped and hid underneath one of the buses parked at the late student's home.  The mob of angry comrades armed with pangas and rungus searched for him all over with no avail.He later fled the place. Stage performance is one of the few things a good artiste should struggle so much not to bring down.The difference comes when  artistes believe they are delivering their best to the point the whole crowd is cheering up yet a good number still feel the show was not up to standard.To begin with Maseno University just had it's opening semester bash  this last Saturday of  Jan 21st with lots of performances from resident artistes also:

She brought out the perfect her with the latest trending 'KESI' tune from Pacho Entertainment.Nadia is one of those Maseno singers who has graced quite a number of commercial events so she is  well versed with the what and what to do on stage plus out of stage.It's evident from her looks and compassion that she is not the type of chiq a crowd would boo out.

I realized something was a mess when he took to his Facebook timeline to apologize over the Dj and his lost tracks during his performance.The King of Mbegu Mbaya Empire and Alka Music Production Artiste is known to be Maseno's number one hype man  no wonder I guess he came last after everyone else had performed just before Khali,owing to his energy and connecting skills.This gentleman however was wise enough to invite his dancers on stage because without them he would have punched the Dj on the face or something.I saw how  devastated he was  each time he called out for his music to play and none of that was coming.Any armature would have  disgraced himself but for him he chose to soldier on amid criticisms afterwards.Next time ensure the Dj has your playlist King Lang.All in all great hype.

First and foremost I want to say Papa Jones is one of the dopest Kenyan  rappers of all times  much as the Maseno University fan baze did not favor him last night.He also had track issues with the Dj prompting the emcees to go seek his consent on what song to play next each and every time.However Papa Jones performance was marred with a lot of repetition ending up performing only about 3 to four songs.Despite the fact that  fans think otherwise,the rapper had all the rights to introduce a rap battle in the middle of his performance except for the mere fact that he ended up with many  whack rappers on stage.One or two were good.This did not go down well with many claiming it was lost time and money.He however focused much on bribing his fans with a snap-back and a few gold coated  chains ,a move which merely worked for Papa .Many said they were cheap.Maybe Khaligraph Jones should arm himself with a Dj and a hype man next time.A few dancers if need be.

The show however could not have been a success without a good stage,lighting and a super sound system from Omega Sounds.Dj Madigz, Dj Blueprint and Dj Hush also did their best to ensure their fans were getting  what was worth their money. Equator Fm Presenter Kiptoo,Mc Gray ,Badgal Kay among others did not disappoint either.Kudos to the Entertainment Director Timmo Stoppa and SOMU President Fred Makajos for a job well done

The mention of the name Emma Jalamo  I believe reminds you  of some of your most favorite Ohangla tunes of all times.The  vernacular Luo musician is know for many exceptional hits among them Simba Ja Uriri
,Gololina and Wivu Mbaya.It's speculated that he might go down in history as the first Ohangla artiste to rule the airwaves for a period of 3 years consecutively.It rarely happens.Mostly many new hits end up dead or broke immediately after.Kudos for that.

Bonyeza Star  traced the artiste back to some of his previous videos which have done so well  .After watching close to all his cool videos we embark on rewinding this particular video for the song 'Gololina' .Gololina in simple language means 'a woman with big sexy eyes' .The dancers are awesome ,not forgetting the guests accompanying the superstar.All our attention however revolves around the video vixen. Some call them  'video girl' .So tender and beautiful.Her attire matches the mood of the song and the exotic venue .Nice butts and a commendable figure.I particularly like her slit,so tempting.

Whoever directed this video Gololina needs a thumbs up.I would say he did a good job except for one embarrassing part.

For instance assuming you take a lady out for a real date leave alone what happens in the movies and music videos , you should be able to operate withing the norms and practices of romance and hospitality.This includes opening the car door for her to come out and eventually pulling back a seat for her to sit down.Couples who are meeting for their first date are required to sit facing each other mostly while lovers who are already dating need to sit close to each other with their bodies  almost in contact. Emma Jalamo and his Gololina are  able to make this part come out perfectly except for one thing. When eateries are  brought to the table   the man should be the one to open up the plates .If it's a snack such as fries  commonly known as chips or chippo a knife and a fork will always be tagging along with some tomato sauce and salt cans of course.Forget about toothpicks.Hizo ni za kukula chippo mwitu za mtaa .

This is actually a total embarrassment to the hotel and hospitality fraternity and not just the Luo community ,since it's your duty to ensure such things do not happen right under your noses. I'm still asking myself where the video director was when this was happening.

The Welle Welle hit maker ,they say, is turning out to be  Kenya's top lady's man not forgetting his grand entry at 10 Over 10 show hosted by Willis Raburu on Citizent Tv, late last year.The much talked about show elevated his career to a whole new level . Analysts claim that ditching Pacho Entertainment for Kaka Empire could be more of a business thingies than a fallout hence fans should not worry. You wanna know why? Rapdamu in one of his latest songs says "Wanauliza ka bado nabonga na Timmy .Nawajibu, Kwani boss iko nini' .Sounds like a parable with a hint though.

Enough of Timmy and Rapdamu.Lets get back to Timmy.

Rule number (4) of performance etiquette says , 'Help others by setting a good example.  Stay quiet.  Keep focused' .

In 2016 alone Timmy Dat graced numerous shows among them being the official MC of Safaricom's BLAZE .Bonyeza Star however was keen on the kind of shoddy  performance Timmy Dat  gave to his Rongo University fans the same year.

The artiste arrogantly commanded the event organizers to send him a wireless microphone to his car .Soon after he bounced on stage in a shirt and a mini-shirt on the inside while shouting Punda ! Punda ! Punda ! Loudly on microphone.I guess the guy was trying to release stress or anger by abusing his fans.Immediately Timmy took off his shirt and held it , with fans thinking it would be thrown to them.He then commanded one of the upcoming artistes to take the shirt back to the car claiming "Hii shati ni expensive sana sieziwarushia ivo Punda ! " Oh my goodness how dare you trail abuses to people you expect to cheer you on stage.People you depend on for a living.

Rule number (7) of performance etiquette says , 'Show appreciation for the efforts of other groups . Be respectful.'

I think you all remember just recently when August Alsina was performing at the Freebandz Music Fest in Baton Rouge, Louisianna, when he invited a girl on stage so he could  serenade her and it turned out to be a sexual assault.

Or in the case of Parker Cannon when a Video emerged  from a  gig in Toronto where a girl was kicked off the stage face-first into the crowd by the lead singer  for taking a selfie.


It doesn't end there for Timmy anyway .The star decided not to perform at all,all he did was do a chorus and half a verse for every song the Dj played.The Dj too didn't wear a happy face after being put through such a frustrating marathon.Thirty minutes later  or so Timmy was done.He left the stage when his song was still playing.Left without goodbye .He left at a time least expected.To make it worse he left with the microphone to his car prompting the even organizers to run after him to get back the microphone before he sped off..

I think in one word Timmy looked down upon his audience forgetting superstars rise and fall.One time they ride so high,one time they cant put up with ridiculous utterances from the same fans .

For instance Justin Beiber was surprised last year after failing to get the reception he was hoping for  in Manchester , Justin became angry with being booed by fans and ended up storming off stage. It's thought that concert goers were fed up with star talking to the crowd, and instead were eager to see him sing  his biggest hits.What an embarrassment.The star walked off stage after fans refused to stop screaming and allow him to talk.

My point is that  ,an artiste can do anything as far as spicing up his performance is concerned but abusing fans and making fan of them is the worst a performing act can ever do.Let's assume Timmy Dat  was drunk anyway ! next time kumbuka bangi si wheetabix na pombe si maji

Sources close to the office of  Maseno University  Director of Entertainment ,Timo Stoppa , have hinted out that Kenyan Sassy singer  Vivian has been booked for Opening Sem Bash  scheduled to be going down in a weeks time at the University Graduation Square. This comes after  a lot of ranting by vasity critics pointing fingers at the Director for missing in action in the previous semester events that never went as expected.

I have  said it time and again that nothing hidden under the sun in the name of showbiz artifacts can skip our ears.My team embarks on a two weeks investigation on what seems to be a mega fallout between Gimochiek and Mit Ka Donjo hitmaker Dogo Ateeh and his  Chuo Records counterpart  Producer GKV who also happens to be a rapper too.Our eyes are also rooted to the social media posts and interactions of promising Ghipuka artiste Balulu and the self proclaimed King Lang.11th of January one popular blog known as Updates Kenya is running a very interesting story about Kisumu artiste  Balulu and his musical Journey .An article who's tittle depicts a lot of pettiness in it.

Come January 13th Dogo Ateeh decides to announce his intentions to release Mit Ka Donjo Remix soon enough and in his list of artistes lined up for the remix, GKV is missing.We then call up the rapper to find out why ? And turns out the two have bad blood already.In a phone call conversation with Bonyeza Star , Dogo Ateeh narrates how filthy Chuo Records is, terming the C.E.O as a corn.He begins

" Working with GKV on Mit Ka Donjo was sweet at the beginning .Soon after the audio had been released he started milking money from me in the name of settling bills for video expenses.I sent him the first Ksh15,000 to book the venue for our shoot only to be told later that out shoot had been cancelled and postponed for another day.Later I sent him another 15,000 and this time he booked the space yes but
ended up introducing two other shooting sessions with different artistes ,a move which we had not agreed on at the beginning.Being a white screen video ,the shoot was done very hurriedly and unprofessionally.Coming to the editing ,anyone who has watched the video can attest to the fact that GKV enjoys more than 80 percent appearance and close range shots unlike my shoddily done scenes. Finally the video was released and it reached a point we were supposed to launch  the song with the help of  Mseto East Africa presenter Willy M Tuva.I don't deny GKV and Tuva have been friends for a while hence it was easier to secure the interview.It's however sad to mention that GKV went ahead still to claim that Tuva is asking for Ksh 5000 to have the video launched yet the last time I checked Tuva cleared the air that Mseto does not charge for release and airplay.Weather Tuva received the money or not,I don't know .After dishing out the 5K to him he shameless went ahead to launch the video on Mseto himself without involving me .In short GKV decided to use me as a Money milking machine and it is for the same reason that I decided to leave him out on the remix.About why he is using Balulu story to brew beef between us,I think that is very childish.

GKV however on the other hand  seems to be using Balulu to hit back at Dogo Ateeh and other artistes rebellious to his label  and to justify his actions which is  in deed very unprofessional.At Bonyeza Star we do not propagate beef but say things as they are. This article  by updates Kenya comes after Balulu has just released yet another new  song with GKV hence after screening the purported coached interview we get a reason to make another call to Lang Katalang.Reason being we all knew Balulu  as a former student of King Lang lyrically .

At some point fans even claimed they sounded the same in the song Gonga Wall. The Luo Flow and Genge rapper however decides to be very careful with his words so as not to send mixed signals.

DRAMA AT A FUNERAL AS GIRLFRIEND DENIES HER CAMPUS BOYFRIEND OF 8 YEARS AFTER DEATH

At around 8.00pm East African time a popular whatsap group is watering down in tears. Homies struggling to accept the sad news that one of their own is gone.A very young and vibrant Kenyan citizen and University student for that matter is dead and gone.Reason being he met his dead in an unusual train accident.True to say they rarely happen.Facebook is flocked with R.I.P messages while a few other friends are also glued at the marvelous Instagram photos he has left behind.A J.K.U.A.T comrade and student of Computer Technology gone too soon.All is well until another awkward utterance is made.A statement which takes everyone to their chins .But why would someone do such a thing for God's sake.

The two met in standard 7,about 8 years down the line,  at a South Nyanza Primary school and were destined for couples if both would make it at the end of it all. 'F**k death. Soon after her boyfriend joins campo she becomes a regular visitor at his hostel much as they were not admitted to the same Uni after all they shared Nairobi City like it was their own. Otile Brown and Rabbit King Kaka were in the last quarter of the year that just ended caught up in a cat fight on what seemed to be a battle for supremacy.It all began with Otile and his team spending a handsome ksh 300,000 on his latest international collaboration  with Baraka Da Prince from Tanzania.This is believed to have been the fees Baraka received from Otile Brown,Air ticket and accommodation aside .In their agreement Baraka was to be involved with Otile's team shooting the video for Niseme Nawe until 6.00pm in the evening after which Baraka would be considered a free man.

Apparently Baraka Da Prince had an uncompleted assignment with King Kaka which prompted the Kaka Empire top notch to request the Tanzanian Star to stay a little longer.The two,King Kaka and Baraka  had previously recorded a song in Tanzania whose video King Kaka felt had to be shot owing that Baraka was in the country.I believe this is what caused the dirty showdown between King Kaka and Otile Brown,with the latter  adamantly refusing to let King Kaka too have Baraka for the rest of his time in Kenya.Unluckily enough for Otile Brown, Baraka decided to refer to the  contract thereby trashing Otile's side of the story.According to Otile Brown he felt he had spent so much money on Baraka that King Kaka wasn't supposed to ride on the opportunity that easy while on the other hand Baraka Da Prince didn't look like a tied up man after shooting Niseme Nawe video in Limuru .According to  reliable sources Baraka Da Prince was forced to Shoot his part of the King Kaka collaboration before jetting back to Tanzania.

We are all eager to have the new video released soon enough.Meanwhile the Otile and Rabbit clash leaves us guessing as to who might have called the shots in their past video Alivyonipenda project .Who is a bigger brand between Otile Brown and King Kaka ?
