At Bonyeza Star we get it before they snap it. This morning we cornered down the self proclaimed King of Showbiz in a phone call interview with the hope that he would clear the air concerning his Alka Music exit. Find out what he had to say.


 BONYEZA STAR  : I have known you to be a very controversial artiste.Have you really left Alka Productions or its just another publicity stunt ,especially owing to the fact that your new music is coming soon.

KING LANG: I think Kenyans need to take me seriously for once.I already left Alka Productions and am currently focusing on something else.

BONYEZA STAR: That reminds me. You seem to be working on this Relevant Deejayz Entertainment Inua Talanta Initiative so much.Whats under the carpet?

KING LANG : Branding a new set of artistes.Vic Matata and Morgans Ochieng'. We are going to release a new song in a few days with the help of Mombasa based and  Thundersound Records producer Morbiz.

BONYEZA STAR : That means we are not going to have an opportunity to listen to your last song from Alka Productions .After so much hype .Quite  disappointing !

KING LANG : Maybe ,maybe not.They are the ones you need to pose that question to.Otherwise I own the idea.I could still do it with a different studio  much later.

BONYEZA STAR : Forget about that 'goodboy' thingies you played on everyone when you were quitting the stable.Could you mention any 3 genuine reasons why you quit Alka Productions.

KING LANG: 1) The stable needs to work on its communication skills.2) The fact that my ex-manager had everything to do with my brand being associated with Alka,I saw it wise to get a life elsewhere. 3)Sharing the same studio with singer Madini Kenya has been a problem since 2013.I hate to share the same stable with snitches and badmouthers. I bet he knows what am talking about but that's a story for another day.

BONYEZA STAR : In short you are trying to say you have absolutely nothing against  Alka top management?

KING LANG :Unless they have a problem with me.I sincerely don't. Working with Symo On The Beat was awesome.

BONYEZA STAR : If am not wrong you stayed at Alka Productions for a period of 13 months with no single radio or Tv interview.Leave alone shows or even a single music video.

KING LANG: I'm a very patient dude  as long as I know what I want . Maybe the stable was overcrowded and someone had to leave. That someone happens to be me.

BONYEZA STAR: Reliable sources claim you are on your way to Kiambu based ne label  Dimax Studios ahead of your new signing.True or False?

KING LANG : We are still in talks.Had a series of boardroom meetings in the last four months .All you people need to look forward to is my new release from Thundersound Records coming in a few days.

Lang Katalang is known for his  International collaborations such as Nataka Kuwa Nawe ft Tanzania's Chege Chigunda and Olago Dance ft Ghana's Kaybee. He is also celebrated for singles like Ile Siku Nitahit and Ka Zote.

He is the founder of both Relevant Deejayz Entertainment and Inua Talanta Foundation which is aimed at uplifting promising talents .

Migori County is the most volatile among Nyanza regions  politically , with keen and turf political heavyweights such Hon, Junet Mohamed the  ODM director of elections , former two-term legislature, minister and retired chairman of Kenya Nuclear Energy board Hon. Ochilo Ayacko, wife to Nyatike Mp Mrs. Ann Omodho Anyanga, Paul Odola who was once in powerful managerial position in SONY Company ,and Engineer Mark Nyamita. The ultimate focus of these giants is to unseat the incumbent Governor  Okoth Obado, a former classroom  teacher turned politician. All questions pointing at the house on the hill as to  who shall carry the day? let’s find out.

Governor Okoth Obado has tried his level best as a liberal and a Lockean student by tasking the programing of his government in the interest of the people ,with fruitful initiatives such as  full governors scholarship programs  which is changing lives with it's long  term impacts to the society, absorbing  Boda Boda groups into saccos and providing them with 25 motorbikes per sub county among other records ,but this has not releaved him from the yolk of constant nepotism, corruption ,and intimidation from some of his administrators and  his key confidants from his home backyard .

It's alleged by  the  aspirants that he has looted public funds so badly  that he amassed a lot of wealth and property beyond belief in a short period in office, and if at all the soft spoken C.E.O pursued his personal interest in the office he did it within the boundaries drawn by  legal statutes ,for he has always come out clean to shame the devil both at the senate and back at the county especially in Nyatike where  he was fierce accused of selling the gold mines to the Chinese foreigners.

Now the interesting thing is all these criticisms have not hurt his image at the ground because he still controls majority of the electorates by deeds and developments records or perhaps the people have taken a lot of opium from him and they are not too keen to check and confirm if at all the allegations are substantial. I think such influence and control of vast majority is from good advisory team to keep the masters linen as clean as possible, but ought not to forget history shall remember the king not his soldiers.

 All these folks pledge a lot of loyalty to the ODM party and each one of them  is trying to prove they are the most valid  and original party members while others are deemed  passers-by. The loyalty index right from elections of party officials has seen a sharp differences and led to the formation of different camps, each allied to every aspirant hence  degenerating  to  team Obado, team Ochillo headed by Makabong’o, and the confused team Omodho Anyanga . 

These divisions have identified interests that is never is easy to dispute at any given moment, for it once distracted the party leader from launching Migori County Orange house constructed by H.E Okoth Obado. The party interest and reward at the race currently is uncertain forno one  knows who shall carry the game changing certificate, for all have invested heavily on party and its structures.

The tight gubernatorial race has  seen some less visionary people like George Oywer quit the race and technically drowned  underground including the social media fun maker Jobando, and from the look of things  its becoming a two horse race between Ochillo and Obado . Ann Omodho Anyanga to me  is chasing the wind, because Kenyan politics is never civilized to cling on the feminist perspective on image of a woman in leadership. she is no angel to beat the politics odds against her husband who is known for punishing people at his father’s funeral and doing helicopter development for his sycophants yet the constituents are in dire poverty.

As a woman and wife to the Mp she ought to have told Baba Stuart to swallow his KANU pride and serve in the interest of the people as she creates a path to her ambition.Well , she failed to advice the head of her house and now she going to face her public ridicule where it’s a no mercy thingie. This can also mean with all her resources and wealth from the Omodho dynasty her political career is going into a shun together with her soulmate  because the electorates of Nyatike are already decided for a new regime and it’s not a must that ODM  carries  the day for them,judging  from the previous election where only one MCA was from ODM among the seven wards. This history  must be taken seriously by the party for it not to lose grip of Nyatike seats at the parliamentary and ward level. Someone should realize they are neither the Borgia family of Rome  nor can she be Teresa May or even  Angela Merkel in Kenya especially in Migori County.

Meanwhile  what’s her next big step ahead? maybe  deputize somebody and loose again or go into  it alone and lose or support someone and be rewarded CEC position or ost probably  swallow her pride and quit politics for family  business. She has the answers within these provisions.

It has come a time where financial capability might favor the victor of the day, because an African voter listens through stomach  and majorly in  Migori where some call it mogo or gonya. But will the  lawyer really  manage to unseat the County Boss?

Going back to  winning  campaigns and taking the top seat,It will require   require a master who can handle the emerging  developments and circumstances.Both Ayacko and Obado have the wits to influence voters in their favour. I will consider both as kings with long arms in the county demographic coverage. 

The diversity in the county is good because it has discouraged mindless conformism and  wish the electorates well including the aspirants in the forthcoming elections.

In conclusion, should we re-elect the incumbent to finish up the structures he has put in place or elect a new county administrator.Is the county ready to to pace up with the occurrences ?

Just like the education system  one has to move from a point of 'know none' to a point of 'know all' .That means our nursery school teachers play a bigger role in laying the best foundation for kids.

It is the same reason we take a good look at what happens at Relevant Deejayz Entertainment .It's C.E.O a young and vibrant student of Performing Arts Maseno University. At one point he used to be a mathematics drop out .Reason behind that was his love for music and showbizness.

Call him Lang' Katalang ,the self proclaimed King Lang is a hard nut to crack in the mainstream industry .Some say he is an activist while others believe he is just a stubborn brat.

The King himself claims he has been blacklisted by numerous radio stations for being too vocal.But according to the star who has done a number of international projects claims he was born to speak his mind.

At Relevant Deejayz Entertainment he runs a charity project aimed at educating young budding artistes on the basics of running their day to day showbiz affair which include Image and content relevance.As well as providing consultancy services for established firms and brands at a fee.

Many young talents usually prefer to work with him owing to his approachable nature thought not so submissive I must say.

The white bearded doctor has left his seat for scramble among the hopefuls willing to replace him. Its a seat that has attracted over 10 aspirants across the county from different constituencies.

Dr. Machage has done a recommendable job and made exemplary contributions at the senate health committee that shall remain in the history of this nation. On accountability and leadership responsibility the two term legislature bags home a lot credits on track record. 

Going by age he is one of the most experienced politicians from the minority Kuria community with a lot of connections and influence in the government.

But the old young  man did not observe the first law of Robert green’s 48 laws of power of outshining his master by citing a responsibility excuse and his upper house mandates. He brought down the reputation he ought to have guarded for he has built it on endless efforts. His fall out with ODM party leader Raila Odinga has seen a topple in Sen. Machage political career, he failed to pledge loyalty to the party leader something that would have intensified his relations within the ODM party and elevate his public relations among the discontented electorates. May be the old young  man got tired of expressing his sycophancy openly for in any case he has nothing to lose because by opting for a re-election at the parliamentary seat would mean a polite resignation from political limelight.

Even though he comes from the biggest clan in Kuria West , this is no guarantee of winning. For the incumbent Hon. Mathias Robi has vowed to end the old man political career and ODM hopeful Mr. Bohoko has criticized the old young  man on fair grounds and is keen to face him at the ballot with no option but to win. Ridiculously, they don’t realise or if they know it they assume it that the old man is a genius in boardroom strategies, anointed with wisdom and has within Kuria his cronies who serve as implementation vessels.

Well, one who the previous party nominations did not favour Hon. Magaiwa is currently concentrating his effort to senate race again. To him he sees the light from a different perspective that being the only candidate from Kuria he will bag all the Kuria votes and top it up by unknown Luo Migori votes, this is a misplaced political thought because not all Kurias will vote him as his competitors will also penetrate the region and sell their policies and their personalities will attract the same voters to an extent.

Because Dr. Machage has not met the electorates expectations, this leaves Magaiwa at the mercy of the electorate by identity of a Kuria. The notion here is being unreliable and once elected he shall be a Nairobi senator who will never visit the ground at any given moment. Secondly, looking at the voting pattern at the previous elections I find it hard with any Kuria candidate at the county representative posts because majority of the Luos consider it a betrayal after delivering two seats to the Kuria people, they still failed to deliver their votes to Raila Odinga. This is still fresh in their voting mentality anytime. 

Thirdly ,although he who acquires the party nomination certificate has an upper hand of carrying the mantle home brings us to think about how free and fair the party primaries are going to be conducted. ODM  being a party with key insiders who reap big from various aspirants by giving hope of finding them the certificate, being an elective period the mini cartels at the party headquarters have opened their mouth widely to consume from false PR for its their harvesting period, these are people every aspirant must exchange hands with.So by party and its structures over there Hon. Magaiwa and the rest of the aspirants must be ready to anticipate the consequences of if not.

THE BIG QUESTION.

Who merits in terms of party loyalty in the senate race of Migori? My answer is none, because all those eyeing the mantle are all friends of Raila and all claim intensified ties with him. So if at all rewards are to favour any one then Magaiwa carry’s the day being one the pioneers of FOR A.

He is going to face a sharp lawyer and former county assembly speaker Hon,Gordon Ogolla who is  forms the party legal experts team, this neutralizes the pulling forces and calls on personal efforts to reach wanainchi for ultimate decision making.

Additionally, RAO is known for keeping and listening to his old friends no matter how irrelevant they are, to an extent he even rewards them against majority expectations. This uplift former Migori  legislature  Owino Likowa to the limelight for he is key ally of RAO even with negligible following at the ground.

Therefore, Hon. Magaiwa would have sought an alternative political career and quit the senate race because the summation isn’t clear to favour anyone from any communal background,

otherwise  legal expert Gordon Ogolla was born an exemplary professional and his entry into the political gamble is seen as suicidal, for he is a newcomer and he has a lot to answer from the people before he gets any vote, ranging from why he was kicked out of assembly as the speaker, even his fellow aspirants are keen on this and at the right time he should prepare his shield.

If we were to adhere to political experience and mastery of national events, and without this many aspirants, Dr. Machage would have face it off with Owino Likowa or any other person with long vast political experience.

On sincere grounds, the likes of Eddy Muok’s ambitions at the senate is a hogwash because he is not utilizing his youthfulness maturely and accordingly. He would have remained of big relevance and importance if he face it off with Suna west legislature Hon.Joseph Obiero Ndiege. The political career ladder has no shortcuts. Every step counts.In the mean time I wish all other senatorial hopefuls the very best.
