Nyatike sub County is mourning the death of Mzee Anyanga. Father
to Nyatike Member of Parliament Edick Anyanga. Many say they saw the death of
the old man coming after political rivals to the area MP started pointing
fingers at the parliamentarian saying he had neglected his biological father. We all know
families have issues some little while some very complicated.A social media
post by one Hon Jim Bonnie stated ,’

“ Yesterday we visited the biological father of
Nyatike Constituency MP, Hon. Omondi Anyanga, mzee Anyanga (pictured left) who
is wallowing in poverty, hopelessness and is currently bedridden at a community
health center in my village. When we arrived, I saw poverty in its ugliest
form. The old man wept as he narrated to us how he hasn't eaten anything for
the past four days. The bitter part was when I asked him why his son (my area
MP, Anyanga) has refused to buy him food or take him to a better hospital. He
only shed tears and said, "wuodano ojwang'a" (my son has abandoned
me)! But why would a child do this to his father? Why? Omondi Anyanga (pictured
right) is a man with enough money to take care of his father, but he isn't.

Today I'm
asking for a special favour from my good friends, PLEASE this mzee needs help.
He's not sick, he only lacks what to eat. I don't want you to give him food or
make any donation. Kindly share this post on your wall. I want Hon. Anyanga to
see this. Perhaps he isn't aware his dad has been bedridden for the past six
months. We left the mzee with foodstuffs that can last him a week. I don't know
what the family will eat after the one week. Tears!!

This was posted on a Migori County Politics page few days
before the Mzee’s death.Another post by one George Junior went ahead to justify
the above information explaining the source of the family conflict and the
reason behind the old man’s neglect .According to George Junior
,” Yes, it is true that Mzee Anyanga the
biological father of Hon Edick Omondi Anyanga is bedridden..but as if the
ghosts from Anyanga's lineage are haunting the MP, he has refused to take care
of his father's medical bills. Here is the full story. When Hon Edick Omondi
was conceived his father, Mr Anyanga had a squabble with his wife, Anyanga's
mother and chased her away. First forward, Edick hustled his way up and Married
his wife Ann Omodho the gubernatorial aspirant,
marking the Genesis of Edick's rise to political stardom and wealth.... To
recapitulate the e story, Edick swore that forever in his life on
planet earth he will teach his father a lesson...Ann Omodho who is the governor aspirant for Migori, prevailed on his husband not to waste their resources on that old man and instead he should be

Sooner than later ,the old man would be pronounced dead by
Migori County Governor Okoth Obado and in his own word Obado said,
”My condolences to the
family, friends, relatives and residents of Nyatike constituency for the demise
of Mzee Anyanga Miluo, father to Nyatike MP Hon Edick Omondi Anyanga, who
passed on at the Aga Khan hospital in Kisumu. May the Almighty God give the
family strength and courage to overcome challenges during this time of grief. R.I.P
MZEE Anyanga Miluo.”
Loyalists to the area MP maintain the claims are just
politically motivated and that the critics should find out the actual course of
the Mzee’s predicament without dragging the entire family into it. They believe
political rivals to the area MP are using the Mzee’s situation to front for
their political mileage .We wait to confirm whether the MP will attend his
fathers funeral and whatever he has to say concerning the sensitive issue.
