Few days ago uncomfortable news regarding Maseno University's backstreet emerged sending mixed reactions among the student body.
Investigations by Hashtag revealed that the drug menace at Maseno University precincts is real with students abusing banned substances openly, even in their hostels, without fear; a trend that had seen a sharp increase in indiscipline cases coupled with deadly attacks and fights among its students.

But turns out Maseno University has a better face to show off to the public . The University just had it's very first edition of a talent workshop turned concert ,dubbed MASENO's GOT TALENT which saw light of Saturday night April 15th after days of strategic sit downs.
Maseno's Got Talent is a brainchild of Inua Talanta Initiative founded by Relevant Deejayz Entertainment C.E.O Lang Katalang about a year ago in collaboration with the Student Organization of Maseno University Vice President Isaac Kinywa.

Other pioneers members of MGT include Emcee Jay, Comedian Snyper , Tumbo , Tonny Collins , Social media influencer Kelvins Kip , Jose and Wizz Entertainment C.E.O cum Musician Ken Natel .

This brilliant team of dedicated showbiz experts did burn the midnight oil to ensure the Saturday event was a huge success not forgetting the panel of Judges : Producer Cluster Atito,Jerry Timbwa ,Sifa and Nadia.
Quite a good number of comrades thronged Siriba Campus Hindocha Hall to witness the ground breaking of Maseno's Got Talent which will be happening every semester .
Activities of the night were Fine Arts by a number of contestants among them Mwesh and Samuel Arts.

Golden voices from singer Abel Juma and rapper Jack , brought the house to a standstill not forgetting acrobatics and comic punchlines from Vincent Mutweri of Sulphur Jokers.

MGT had massive contribution by students from Music and Theatre Arts department hence ensuring every musical necessity and improvisation was adequate.Thanks to the Departmental Head Dr. Nancy .A. Masasabi and Mr.Malachi Fortune Apudo
The event could't have been one without thrilling performances from local artistes I-Fit , Zack , Hezzy Bizzy, Nadia XClusive , King Lang' Katalang' and finally Snyper.

On the decks was Dj Tizzle keeping his fans attached to every scratch and begging for more . The emcees of the night were Jay, Brenda Nyambeki aka Bree and Madigz

Also in attendance were Student Organization Of Maseno University (SOMU) officials among them Jane Njau, Tony Asiago , Linus Sang , Isaac Kinywa and Former Entertainment director Muller.

Maseno's Got Talent is one out of the many events happening this semester at the University at the Equator with an aim to curb and control Drug and Substance Abuse .
Winners of the much contested event await an award ceremony which will be presided over by Education CS Fred Matiangi at the forthcoming cultural week.

The organizers rather are requesting for adequate sponsorship from Government and Corporate bodies so as to stage a much better event next time.
