 - Barikiwa studios owner and point man  Wuod Fibi, a popular Luo music producer and 'mambo Yabadilika' hitmaker , has been  accused of taking advantage of his signed artistes by  stealing their songs and, in some cases, receiving   money from them  and failing to produce the songs.

- In  a popular Facebook group  called Kisumu Dads, Wuod Fibi of Barikiwa Studios was termed  by one Maryline Jaber Nyar Odero as a fraudster ,hence fraudulently earning money on behalf of his artistes where he doesn't deserve  .

 - Barikiwa Studios  is famous for producing quite a number of  hits for various Luo artists including:

-   Johnny Junior’s Nyoremo album,


- Thum Dhi Siaya Kababa by Koffi MacAdory

- the album containing the song, Emma Jalamo’s Mapenzi album and Musa Jakadalla’s Hera Remo
among  others.

-Wuod Fibi  is also a rumba artist in his own right after  quitting gospel music for secular  rumba.

-  He has to his name a number of hit songs such as Mago Nonsense, Kula Kwa Macho, and Tit for Tat.

- In the said  Facebook post, written in Dholuo, and subsequent comments from a number of Facebook users, he has been  accused of riding on  fellow artiste's  sweat by taking money from artists  and failing to deliver.

- Some of the comments  noted that he procures the services of ‘men- in-black’ to rough up artists or anyone he disagrees with.

- In a Whatsapp message shared on Kisumu Dad’s group , the evidence is tabled showing that one John Okumu [Wuod Fibi’s real name] received US$ 60 through MPESA from Benta Agenga as payment towards producing a  song for some artist.

- It is not clear when this transaction happened, though. A photo on Kisumu Dad group  showing evidence money sent to Wuod Fibi.

-  When things didn’t go according to plan, the  lady decided to follow up the case.

- She wrote to Wuod Fibi saying, '' Erick you have my 6,000 . I  never said anything my brother called you several times and you   didn’t pick up . I know you  are now somebody and  I am nothing. One day I will be like you and I know very  well ni jachan chiemb  jamoko ( A poor man is a rich man's prey)  Wuod Fibi’s Defence

- There are also Whatsapp messages showing  a heated exchange between Wuod Fibi and the lady which ended  up in  epithets thrown  towards Wuod Fibi .

-  In one of the exchanges, Wuod Fibi writes,

'' Onge pesani ma achamo. You are suffering from inferiority complex. You better wake up and reason with me.  I  really don’t have time for  pettyness.  Other artistes mentioned in this matter that have been shortchanged by Wuod Fibi  include:  Onyi Jalamo, Lady Maureen, Freddy  Jachiga, and Benter Nyakoyugi.  Onyi Jalamo 's comments within the thread agreeing with  the post that indeed was shortchanged by Wuod Fibi . This is not the  first time this producer is facing such  accusations. A few years ago, he was accused of almost similar issues and was forced to temporarily close down his studio and he  even posted, at that  time, that he had left  production business.

 ''It is such a shame when one is so busy talking about things they have no knowledge about and busy ranting as thought they get the solution after making noise.

Why dont you have those artists you claim to have been dubed to  speak for themselves and provide evidence of the same then take me to court or have me arrested since i am.not above the law. You forget that 90% of allnthe hit songs you listen to on your radio stations are branded Barikiwa Studio and Eng Wuod Fibi. With the latest hits being Hera Remo by Musa Jakadalla and Injili Morna by Nyar Jerusalem not forgetting hits like Nyoremo By Jonny Junior, Thum Dhi Siaya by Koffi Mac Adory, Safari Ya Kendu by Onyango Mayienga, Hera Apilo by Bandasson, Mercylinah by Otieno Small, Raila Come Home by Lady Maureen and very many more i cant even mention them all.
